About Me

My photo
Connecticut, United States
I love photography because I love how a camera feels in my hands. I love wedding photography because I love that moment right before the first kiss, that look of excitement, the happy tears, the embrace, and finally the kiss that is the beginning of a brand new life together. I love senior portraits because it’s a time where they don’t have to hold anything back, they can be themselves, brag all they want, flaunt their stuff, and just celebrate who they are. I love photography because I know I am capturing memories that you will cherish forever.

Hygienic XXXII Ballroom Blitz Fashion Show

Ballroom Blitz was the first fashion show I had ever attended. When Jessie English, one of the designer's featured that night, asked me if I would take some photographs for her I was so excited! I honestly went with no idea what to expect but knew it was going to be a great night. And it was amazing! Each piece was so unique and so beautiful and was just another reminder how art is absolutely everywhere!

Jessie, thank you for the invite! I won't miss another show again. And a huge thanks to my favorite Anna for keeping me company and being a great "assistant" for the night! :)

Featured Designers:
Jessie English / Raw Culture
Susan Hickman / High Noon
Laree Salom / Vintage Chic by Design
Cristin Gallagher / IMA
Vilina McGregor Williams / Chik226 & Tithe

I am, I love : Walt Disney World, January 2011

It's about time I got around to this post, right?! But in all honesty, this is what I haven't blogged about my Disney vacation: I barely took any photos, barely even pulled out my camera!

Most of you are probably thinking I'm a crazy person, right? How does a photographer not take a million photos will she is on vacation, in DISNEY WORLD of all places! Why? Because I did that our last trip. And because I did that our last trip, I feel like I wasted our time instead of just enjoying myself, relaxing, acting like a kid- that's what Disney World is all about, right? So this trip I let myself enjoy my vacation instead of annoying Justin and making him stop every thirty seconds. Do I regret it? Not at all. I only regret that I have maybe 5 photos of Justin and myself together, the majority of them being with Winnie the Pooh and his friends. But who doesn't love silly ol' Pooh? :)

Yes, we flew all the way to Florida just so Justin could play more video games.

These next photos were taken with my little Nikon CoolPix. I apologize for the blurriness- apparently I have no clue how to use a point and shoot camera.

Justin and I are PROS at the forced smile, deer in headlights look.

Okay, so I have to tell the story behind this picture. Justin and I had a dinner date at the California Grill which is located on top of the Contemporary Resort (that really cool looking one that the monorail drives through). It's a pretty swanky place and they have some of the best food in all of the Walt Disney World Resort. Our table was right next to the window, facing Cinderella's Castle, and we were seated at 7:55pm so we have the PERFECT view of the 8:00pm Wishes firework show- I mean, tears were just rolling off my face! So there we were all dressed up, looking really good, and I really wanted a photo of the two of us. And what does Justin say, "No! We're in a nice restaurant, that's rude!" I looked around and EVERYONE ELSE WAS USING THEIR FLASH! So he convinced me to take the photo without the flash on (in a dimly lit room, and it was pitch black outside. Good call, Justin). Naturally it came out a blurry mess... But I absolutely love it. It's just so us, so perfect.

Counting down the days till our next trip already... :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thankful Thursday : Featured on The Modest Bride!

This Thursday I am SO THANKFUL for being featured on The Modest Bride's blog!

The Modest Bride is a new wedding blog that is made for brides who are simply modest. When Leika, creator of Modest Bride, was saying she was looking for real weddings to be featured on her blog I knew I had the perfect couple; April & Ben! So when I got back from running errands today and saw the email from Leika saying the blog was up, I was ECSTATIC!

Thank you so much Leika for the feature! :) You completely made my day!

Wedding Wednesday : Hey Babe Studio

It's Wedding Wednesday again, and the first Wedding Wednesday of February! I am wicked excited for this week's post, too!

Last week (has it really been a week already?!) at Making Things Happen I met one of the most amazing ladies I know and her name is Micelle Edgemont. Michelle is from Brooklyn, New York and has dived head first into her business Hey Babe Studio.

Here is what Michelle has to say about Hey Babe Studio:
Hey Babe Studio is a design company founded by Michelle Edgemont. Based in Brooklyn, NY, I create pieces personalized to your wedding or event. Currently, my product line consists of ring pillows, decorative flags, and cake toppers. Each piece utilizes silk ribbons towards a modern, heirloom aesthetic.

And here is what I have to say about Hey Babe Studio:
Everything Michelle does is absolutely ADORABLE! Honest to goodness, every time I look at her website and her Etsy shop my heart skips a beat and I get all giggly and excited! I love that everything is handmade and I know Michelle puts her love into each piece. It's fun and timeless, these are the details at a wedding that people will always remember.

Enough of my ranting/bragging about Michelle... Check out her work!

Is your jaw on the floor? Yeah, mine was too the first time I saw her site! And I've already warned her that she will be making EVERYTHING for my wedding some day! :)

So if you are looking for a personal, DIY touch for your wedding, anniversary party, baby shower, whatever it may be, be sure to contact Michelle at Hey Babe Studio! Not only does she have amazing talent, but she is an amazing person and friend. And don't forget to check out her blog, too!

Happy Birthday Gracie!

It absolutely blows my mind that I am writing this blog... but today is my goddaughter's third birthday! Yes, my little Gracie-poo is three years old today. How on earth can it be?!

I remember this day perfectly because it was one of the scariest days of my life, being in the middle of Boston and receiving a call from Justin saying he thinks something was wrong because he thought her heard Heather's address go over his scanner. After a long few hours and all thanks to God, Grace Elizabeth was brought into this world premature but perfectly healthy! I had never seen a "premi"before so Grace was the tiniest little baby I had ever seen!

And now here is a little bit of The History of Grace and some super adorable photographs of her!

Baby Grace, just a few days old at home...

I think this is the first photograph of us! I was in my senior year of high school... Except for the hair, I look pretty much the same. :)

Skip to Grace's first birthday! These were taken while I was studying at Hallmark Institute of Photography. Heather and Grace came up and we had a whole day of photoshoots and a LOT of cake!

One of my best friends Natasha took this photograph... It is the absolutely PERFECT photograph of Grace EVER. You have no idea how much it just screams Grace.

And the latest photograph of Grace I have are from this past Christmas. Every year we have made Christmas cards and they are always ridiculously cute!

Can't you tell she's cause just a little bit of trouble? ;)

Happy, happy, HAPPY Birthday Grace! I love you so much! And don't worry, I have a present from Disney World for you that you are going to LOVE! :)
(ps- when you blow out the candles on your cake, make a wish that Punxsutawney Phil doesn't see his shadow, okay?)
